Heya, I’m Qing. I’m a background painter for an animation studio in Canada who likes to just draw my own concepts and girls for fun in my off-work time. This is why you won’t be seeing backgrounds in my personal work; I deal with it too much at work, hahaha.
I still remember the moment my highschool friend introduced me to DeviantArt, back in 2005. I grew up in a family that disapproved of me doing art, so I wasn’t allowed to draw at home. DA was really the
Saturday kicked off Day 3 of Comic-Con, and the crowds poured onto the convention floor to start the weekend in Geek Style.
At noon, deviantART hosted our final panel: How to Supercharge Your deviantART Profile Like the Masters. Moderated by none other than our fearless ninja, Angelo (aka spyed (https://www.deviantart.com/spyed)), we were honored to have the following superstars share their deviantART experiences with the crowd:

average pay rates for comic book artists: by johnchalos, journal
average pay rates for comic book artists:
"Generally, the good graphic novels fetch $100 - $300 per page, although professionals who have been in the industry for a long time can command as much as three times that amount. In fact, one elite illustrator commanded as much as $1,000 a page (on a 22-page comic book)! Most of the popular titles that artists, like David Cassaday, work on are monthly issues, which end up providing him with a six-figure salary. The back-end royalties on merchandise, trade paperbacks and movie royalties are also generous."

Nsio's Four Tools for a Successful Drawing
Let's face it, drawing is hard. Especially for a beginner, learning to draw seem dauntingly challenging. Even more experienced artists have it hard and I'm not anyway different from that. At the same time, weirdly enough, drawing is surprisingly simple and straightforward thing to do. But that's when you know what you are doing.
In fact, drawing is probably hard for you just because you don't know how it's done. And if you ask an artist how it's done, you will likely get rather vague answer. They know how to do it, but they don't know how to explain it for you. Drawing is full of concepts that simply

Kristanna over Hanna Manifesto: A Frozen Essay
Introduction
This essay, or manifesto, as some would call it, will talk about the points I make in how I support KristoffxAnna (which is among my new favorite OTPs ;)) over HansxAnna.
I got the idea to do an essay like this after it was done by my friend NintendoGal55. In hers, she discussed why she supported ArnoldxHelga over ArnoldxLila from Hey Arnold! For mine, while KristoffxAnna is the canonical couple, I know there are some fans that ship HansxAnna. Even further, others ship HansxElsa, KristoffxElsa, or even worse, ElsaxAnna.
I want to start by saying that I am someone who kind of plays by the rules and doesn't question them. In doi

Artist Alley 101: A Practical Guide to Selling Your Art at Conventions
UPDATE 2020: Hi folks! I've gotten so many great responses from people over the years about these journals, I've decided to give them a bit of an update (also because there are so many new resources out there that it's been hard to keep up). I also want to make these tips more palatable to those who don't have interest in doing solely fanart, as I've seen a lot of artists be successful in doing almost purely original work. So I hope these journals continue to be as informative and helpful as they have been over the years!
After being a member of several artist alleys fo

A tale of Two Winters
Chapter 1
"More water, more water!" Edger cried as he cradled their baby jack. "he's burning up!"
His wife Gertrude rushed what water wasn't frozen in a pot to her husband who quickly plunged the rag into it and placed it on their toddlers head.
Gertrude gripped her swollen belly getting her balance after rushing over. Edger looked helplessly from his twin children, to his pregnant wife.
"Darling!" he cried.
"I'm fine dear...I'm fine.." Gertrude said regaining her balance.
Their little baby Jack coughed, squirmed then calmed again. "Thank goodness..." he breathed out.
"Is he breathing better...?" his wife aske
